Is your business still viable?

Can your business recover?

You may need to work out whether your business is still viable. You can do this by:

Cheap repairs

There are people who appear soon after any natural disaster offering to fix things quickly and cheaply. But be very careful as there can be lots of problems.

Things to look out for are people who:

  • Go door to door

  • Claim to do free inspections to identify damage

  • Ask for money up front

  • Promise to get the repairs done and help you avoid the wait everyone else has

  • Pressure you to sign on the spot

To protect yourself:

  • Do not sign anything on the spot

  • Confirm any repairer is licensed and insured

  • Shop around for repairers

  • Do not pay any money up front immediately (take some time to check)

  • Check their credentials (for example, ring other people who may have used them)
